I walked, I listened, and I saw. In these simple actions.
I discovered the deep duality that resides within us all, between the present and the past, between cities, between languages, and between the real and the real. This duality is not just an abstract idea but a lived experience, one that shapes our identities and influences how we connect with the world around us.
This research has led me to understand the threads that connect me to places, people, and culture. These threads, both tangible and intangible, represent the duality of my identity. As the poet Mahmoud Darwish says, "I am from there and I am from here." This duality is not just a concept; it is an experience that permeates my understanding of who I am and how I relate to Cairo, a city that lives in me despite my never fully living there..
